Former Georgia QB Stetson Bennett Arrested In Dallas

Stetson Bennett, the former quarterback of the University of Georgia that guided the Bulldogs to back to back College Football Playoff National Championships, was apprehended on Sunday January 29, 2023 in Dallas on a count of misdemeanor public intoxication.

The Dallas Police Department reported that officers were dispatched to 1600 Block of Tribeca Way early Sunday morning at 7:10 a.m. ET in response to an individual who was said to be pounding on doors. Officers arrived at the scene and found 25-year-old Stetson Bennett to be intoxicated. As per the police statement, Bennett was then arrested, taken to the City Detention Center, and charged with public intoxication.

On Sunday morning, Bennett was released from the detention center, but was not available to give a statement. His exceptional collegiate career started off as a walk-on and ended with being named a Heisman finalist. Producing an impressive stat line of 4,127 passing yards, 27 TDs, 7 INTs, and 10 rushing TDs in his final season, which allowed him to lead the Bulldogs to a perfect 15-0 record and a second consecutive national championship. He is considered to be a potential 2-3rd round selection in the upcoming NFL Draft in April. We will see if this has any affect on his draft position.
