Without the use of dies, the hands of our craftspeople gradually form the miniatures into a flower through the careful shaping and adding of dozens of individual leaves, fine filaments and delicate stems. Each one of these table flowers, big or small, hand-painted or in their original pure white porcelain color, is as unique as their natural archetype.

The Roses of Sèvres delicate white bisque porcelain paperweights result from the meticulous work of the casting and trimming workshops where the renown biscuit porcelain of Sèvres is created. The legend says that one winter day, the Marquise de Pompadour, patron of the Arts and inceptor of the Sèvres’ porcelain factory, entertained King Louis XV at the Castle of Bellevue in a greenhouse decorated with a bed of soft-paste, painted and perfumed, porcelain flowers.
