Asian hospitality brand Aman’s New York foray is set to debut in springtime.
As another long winter stretches ahead, sitting around a cozy fire sounds pretty appealing. Homeowners and hotel guests of the pending Aman New York will be able to do so, since its 22 residences feature grand-scale functioning fireplaces in multiple rooms, while its 83 hotel rooms and suites also boast the hygge amenity that’s becoming more of a rarity each year in the city. The hospitality brand, whose exotic origin story began in Thailand, during the late Eighties, knew it had to bring extra-special details for its first-ever development with urban residences.
Fireplaces are just the tip of the iceberg, too. Aman’s impeccable track record coupled with its knack for scouting ultimate dream locations from beaches to deserts to metropolises, such as New York’s restored, century-old Crown Building at Fifth Avenue and 57th Street, created high demand. More than half of the residences, which range from one- to six-bedrooms, including a five-story penthouse, sold pre-construction. Buyers understand the Aman name is synonymous with a level of service that one doesn’t come across often in the U.S. They’re buying into a total holistic lifestyle with supreme privacy, which extends to a lifetime membership to Aman Club and its endless perks.
In keeping with Aman’s wellness mission, some residences offer outdoor terraces and heated pools, and residents have a private entrance to the property’s signature Aman Spa. As an Aman Urban Wellness concept, the three-story sanctuary offers seven spa treatment suites, an indoor pool and two unique spa “houses” called Banya and Hammam with outdoor terraces sporting hot and cold plunge pools. Naturally, fire pits are also incorporated into the spa setting.
Being loyal to its heritage, Aman commissioned architect Jean-Michel Gathy to reimagine the iconic address with an Asian flair. The theme comes across in Nama’s Japanese cuisine, one of several dining and entertainment options to enjoy come springtime when Aman New York arrives in style.
