BORA BORA, FRENCH POLYNESIA

Bora Bora

Coveted for their clear, crystal turquoise waters, Bora Bora is a must see. Located in the French Polynesian Islands, Bora Bora is the island located just 143 miles away from the capital Papeete in Tahiti. The main island of Bora Bora was once a volcano, and the remains are surrounded by many “motus” that create an almost still water lagoon. Even though the ocean side is rough with wind and choppy waters, the lagoon side is sheltered creating its perfect white sand beaches. The almost complete circle surrounding the main island creates one big swimming pool with only one entrance to the ocean. All of the resorts exist on the surrounding motus and can be reached only by boat once one arrives at the airport.

Bora Bora is known for the overwater villas that are coveted for their glass bottom floors. The resorts are water focused, creating a symbiotic relationship with the lagoon. Some of the many highlighted activities that exist in Bora Bora are the diving with the black tip reef sharks and swimming with the stingrays. It is a rare opportunity to see the beautiful fish up close yet still is very safe. Another great way to experience the island is by helicopter tour, which gives you a great view of all of the changing colors of the water.

Overall Bora Bora is a must go to place to experience the French-Polynesian culture, stay on an overwater villa and swim in the most perfect waters. For more information please email info@luxuwt.com
